This site never stores your Resume, Job Descriptions, Reports or Coaching Chat. Everything disappears when you close the tab.

Who runs this site

DevOps Career Coach is run by Al, a DevOps career coach, who is the data controller for this site. Contact: [contact email to be added before launch].

What happens to your text

• Files are read on your device. When you upload a PDF, DOCX or text file, your browser turns it into text. The file itself is never uploaded.
• Only the text you approve is sent. When you click Analyse or ask the coach a question, the text of your Resume, the Job Description, your Report so far and your chat are sent to our server, which passes them to Google Gemini and streams the answer back.
• Our server keeps nothing. It holds your text only while it handles each request. It has no database or file storage for your content, and our logs record only timings, counts and error codes, never your text.
• Your browser keeps it only in memory. Nothing is written to cookies, local storage or any other browser storage. Closing or refreshing the tab, ending the Session, or changing your Resume deletes it.

Google Gemini

Your text is processed by Google Gemini, an AI service from Google, using the paid Gemini API.

• Google doesn't use it to train its models or improve its products.
• Google keeps it for up to 55 days to detect abuse and misuse, as described in Google's Gemini API terms and usage policies. Authorised Google staff may review content flagged for abuse.
• Google may process it outside the UK and the EU, including in the United States.

Please don't include information you aren't comfortable sending to Google, such as your home address, phone number or date of birth. Your Resume works just as well without them.

Your rights and our lawful basis

We process your text only because you ask us to, by ticking the consent box and clicking Analyse (consent, UK and EU GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw at any time by closing the tab. Because this site keeps no copy, there's nothing for us to access, correct or delete afterwards. For data Google holds, see Google's terms above. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.

What we do store

Only content-free numbers: a daily count of Analyses to keep costs under control, short-lived rate-limit counters keyed by IP address to stop abuse, and anonymous counts of finished Analyses, downloads and booking-link clicks. None of these contain your text. A bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs before your first Analysis; see Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.
